For my final project of the year, I decided to look back at 2022 and create ornaments inspired by sketchbook pages and projects from the last 11 months! Each one is hand painted and has a story and meaning behind it.

Flowers bring me a lot of joy and I am always in awe of their beauty. I wanted to include a few floral ornaments to share with fellow flower lovers!

I started painting flowers for the first time at the beginning of this year when I was learning how to use palette knives. I think I had always shied away from flowers because I didn't know if I could do them justice--when you paint something realistic it actually has to look like something! But I really connected with using palette knives and painting them in a more abstract way.

The roses on this ornament were created in the same abstract way using a combination of palette knives and paint brushes. The background is layers of black and dark green, topped with gold for some shimmer.

I hope this ornament can be a reminder to stop and smell the roses and take time to enjoy the little things that bring you joy whether it's a bouquet of flowers, looking up at the clouds, enjoying a sweet treat, unplugging for a bit and spending time in nature, or whatever it may be!

Please note that colors may vary slightly from how they appear on your screen due to different monitor/screen settings.

Each ornament is paired with an organization to support the work they do. A portion of proceeds from this ornament will be donated to OneTreePlanted to help them plant 5 trees where they are needed most.
