Hand Painted Ceramic Ornament #6 - Star Gazing, Finial Ornament

For my final project of the year, I decided to look back at 2022 and create ornaments inspired by sketchbook pages and projects from the last 11 months! Each one is hand painted and has a story and meaning behind it.

The James Webb Space Telescope images from NASA this summer were so breathtaking and extraordinary! They inspired me to play around in my sketchbook with images of the sky and I wanted to dedicate a few ornaments to this amazing galaxy we live in! 

I started by layering black, dark blue, dark purple, and silver to make the background. Then I added each star and speck by hand. 

I hope this ornament brings a little bit of the magic, sparkle, and wonder of the universe into your home this holiday season!

• Measures approx. 2 7/8" in diameter and 4 1/2" in height
• Hand painted with acrylic paints.
• Finished with a protective coating.
• Strung with black double faced satin ribbon.

Each ornament is paired with an organization to support the work they do.
