100 Strokes Print | Taking Action

Inspired by The 100 Day Project, I came up with the idea of creating a piece of art by adding 1 mark a day for 100 days! This piece started out as a single stroke on canvas. Then every day, another one was added. Stroke by stroke, action by action, day by day, layer by layer, this piece was created over the course of 100 days.

When I look at this print, I see a correlation to all the actions we have taken in our lives, the memories they have created, the experiences that have shaped us, the imprints made in our minds and hearts. It reminds me that everything starts with a single action and they all add up when we look back.

I hope this piece inspires you to take action, a gentle reminder when you need it that you have it within you to take that first step. To show that action comes in different sizes and shapes. And that one small act can lead to another and another until you realize you have a canvas filled with meaningful strokes and marks.

Each print is paired with an organization to support the work they do. $5 from this print will be donated to Right To Be (formally Hollaback!) a global, people-powered movement and organization working to end harassment and ensure equal access to public spaces. They provide free virtual training sessions to empower and educate the public on what we can do when we see harassment or if we experience it.
