Chanel is looking for a forever home and family to be a part of! I found this sweet girl last Friday, July 10th, 2026 in Renton, WA. She was microchipped and spent a day and night with me while we waited to hear from her owner.
When they finally responded to animal control, they let them know they did not want Chanel anymore :( This was very upsetting as Chanel is so affectionate, loves people, and such a great pup!
I absolutely fell in love with her in the short time we spent together but unfortunately cannot keep her so animal control picked her up. She is currently at a vet clinic boarding facility located in Renton, WA until she finds a foster or an adopter.
This cannot be the end of Chanel's story! I am hoping this journey was just the one she needed to take to find the right people who will give her the love and home she deserves!
Please help me find a home for Chanel! As most of you know, bigger dogs, especially pits and pit mixes have a hard time finding a home.

Here are a few important things you should know about Chanel (based on the time I spent with her):
- Chanel is approx. 4 years old per her microchip and looks like a pit / brindle / boxer mix.
- She is spayed.
- She was originally adopted out from King County Regional Animal Services but that's all I really know about her past.
- She LOVES people! In the time I spent with her she made friends with everyone: the folks at the vet I took her to, neighbors, friends.
- She is definitely used to living inside a home and is potty trained from what I can tell. She wants to be part of a family and needs to be able to live indoors!
- She knows how to sit. I am sure she can learn more commands!
- She takes treats SO gently!
- She loves going on car rides (she went to the airport with me and did some errands too)
- She enjoys going on walks and sniffing around. She would be a great running and hiking buddy!
- She is a STRONG girl! She needs someone who can handle her and spend time leash training her.
- She seems to like other dogs (Based on her reaction when we went to the vet to get scanned for a microchip. I can't handle her when she pulls so did not let her meet other dogs to be on the safe side.)
- She will follow you and plop down beside you if you settle somewhere.
- She loves belly rubs, cuddles, and pets!
- She dreamed a lot and will run in her sleep or make noises
- She didn't bark at all--only a few times when some dogs outside were barking like crazy! I called her name and she stopped.
- She may have some separation anxiety (she whined when I left and didn't want to be left--which can just be due to the fact that she had been through a lot and she just met me). I think would be do great in a family with lots of people and possibly other dogs!
- She looked healthy and has great teeth!
As much of a dog lover as I am, I'm a bit apprehensive when it comes to big dogs, just because they are so much stronger than me! When I first saw Chanel, I approached her very carefully--I didn't know if she'd be friendly or not. When I said hi, she came to me, wagged her tail, and laid down! Soon after, she rolled over for a belly rub. Any hesitation or fear I had went out the window! She really is such a sweet girl and deserves a loving home!
